Potential Research Projects

Given that most of BFP's estate will be managed under a coppice regime for the second rotation the company is therefore looking at developing research into the following areas;

  1. Second rotation nutrition requirements and timing of fertiliser applications with emphasis on minor elements.
  2. Coppice stocking densities on sites with <700 millimetres of available annual rainfall to maximize yield through improved piece size class and distribution.
  3. Info
  4. Optimal timing for coppice thinning in relation to site types and rainfall zones.
